Africans have been called upon to rediscover their past and assert their identity in the 21st Century. The President of the Rastafari Council, Ghana (RCG), Ahuma Bosco Ocansey aka Daddy Bosco made the call at the 95th Anniversary celebrations of the Coronation of His Imperial Majesty, Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia at the Rising Phoenix Resort, Akuma Village, Accra.

Referring to the biblical story of creation, Daddy Bosco asserted that if God made man in his image and likeness in a garden, then obviously, the person created would be black since black soil is known to be the best soil for cultivating a garden. Touching on the significance of the coronation of Emperor Haile Selassie I, Daddy Bosco noted that without the coronation, there would be no King of Kings hence the huge significance of the day.

The event was attended by a Rastafari from all walks of life and it featured board games, musical performances and a bazaar. Performances featured Aklerh, Ras Darryl and Ras Charmer among others with Culture B formerly of Groove FM and Joy FM and Naptali Ruff Ringo as MC. Coronation Day is widely celebrated by Rastafari adherents and sympathizers globally.
